  • 1.  American Land Title Association Welcomes End of Government Shutdown

    Posted 6 days ago

ALTA welcomes today's news that the federal government has officially reopened. This agreement ends more than a month of uncertainty for homebuyers, sellers and lenders, and will help real estate transactions move forward without further delay. Throughout the shutdown, limited access to key federal services - including IRS income verification, FHA loan processing and the National Flood Insurance Program - slowed transactions nationwide.

In an ALTA survey, 54% of respondents reported impacts to closings and timelines.

A fully operational government is essential to a healthy housing market and the confidence of everyone involved in property transactions. ALTA and its members look forward to continuing our work with policymakers to promote long-term stability, efficiency and trust across the real estate ecosystem. Megan:

Thank you. It's been devastating to see how many people this has affected. I really hope we never have to go through something like this again.
