    Hi Sue,

We use Proof as a third-party eNotary in Wyoming and have had great experiences. It is easy to use, and their tech support has been great when we have had issues. The advantage is that they are available to the client 24/7 so it takes something off my escrow team's plate by not having to sign with clients that are not in our office.

Hey Sue - we've been using Proof (formerly Notarize) for years. We like the platform because it has the BYON (Bring your own notary) option. Unfortunately, since Proof took over, we've had quite a few issues with the technology, getting questions answered by people able to make decisions, and have also experienced some unprofessionalism by the notaries. It's a good platform and is user friendly, they just have growing pains and kinks to work through. We hope those can be accomplished soon, or we will be forced to look elsewhere.

    Hi Sue Ann,

I'm Yahaira Rodriguez, President of the Remote Online Notary Association (RONA). We work with a large network of highly trained RON notaries who are ready to take on remote notarization work 24/7.

Working directly with platforms, as Jennifer and Tina mentioned, has its pros and cons. It's convenient because there's always someone available to pick up calls at any time. However, the downside is that you may not know the experience level of the notary handling your transaction. Will they be well-versed in real estate transactions? Will they maintain a professional background and atmosphere on the video call? Will they perform all the necessary identity verification steps to ensure compliance and security? These are critical considerations.

At RONA, we address those concerns by providing access to experienced and trained notaries who can handle RON transactions with professionalism and attention to detail. I'm also available personally to assist with your RON needs, ensuring a seamless and secure process.

Two of the platforms I regularly use to complete my RON transactions are Proof and NotaryCam, both of which I've found effective and user-friendly.

If you'd like to discuss further or need support with RON transactions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

That is a good question, one of the challenges in the adoption of a RON platform is knowing what questions to ask. Both from a compliance and security presepective as well as workflow utilization. To assiist in those efforts we have created an eNotarization plaform comparison matrix. In cooperation with various notary societies we believe this to be an agnostic effort.

    Good Morning Sue,

I am with NotaryCam and we have been one of the leading vendors in this space since RON's inception.  All of the comments/statements to your post are spot on and I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about how NotaryCam can ensure we are checking all of your boxes.  We are owned by Stewart Title Guarantee Company which means we have the backing of a publicly traded company and that compliance and service are top of mind for us.

A bit of advice.  Make sure your stamp is compliant by emailing the state a copy.  I recently had an issue which has since been resolved with the state dropping the investigation.  I was using a stamp issued by proof.com and it was not compliant.  No matter who you choose, email a copy of the stamp to [email protected] if they provide you with an electronic stamp.  I am using a different service that said their stamp was compliant and they had gotten it approved by the state, which was untrue.  But the company that I am using allows me to upload an image of my stamp.  In my case, the stamp given didn't have a solid black border.

It is your responsibility to use a compliant stamp.  Do not trust these companies to do this for you.

    Sincerely,

Good advice! We recommend contacting the National Notary Asso. to obtain your stamp as they are in constant contact with the SOS rules and updates. Their webpage for stamp requests is: https://www.nationalnotary.org/electronic-notary-seal
