  • 1.  Recent cyber incident and lenders

    Happy New Year everyone
As a title agent are you feeling the impact of cyber incidents with your title underwriter? We issued a title commitment before this most recent incident. Lender (PNC) is requesting a Letter of Attestation which underwriter is not presently issuing due to incident. Lender is refusing to allow us to close with this underwriter. Curious are other lenders proceeding in this manner as well?
Now I see the need to be signed on with more than one underwriter.
    Appreciate your comments~

    Hi Gail,

Is the "Letter of Attestation" the same as a closing protection letter, or do they want something more than that?

    Thanks, Donna

BTW:  Letter of Attestation (different from a CPL) has been issued by underwriter and lender has authorized this closing to move forward. So many borrowers were impacted by this incident.
I wonder what the future holds for us in title industry.
