hi Everyone, got a fun question for anyone who may have dealt with this -
I've got a transaction for a HUD home sale, and the purchaser wishes to take the property in his LLC. This hasn't been a problem in the past in the Los Angeles market, but now we are required to submit information from the seller under the new FinCEN rules... and its not like we can contact the Secretary of HUD to answer the questions!
Has anyone had this come up yet and successfully obtained the required seller information? Obviously we can get the name and address for HUD, but coming up with any other identifying information has been impossible so far (does HUD even have an EIN as a federal government agency? Can we simply say "no identification"?)
